The Trek Concludes

And so this once-in-a-lifetime trip comes to an end. That it is on my birthday is only fitting. I don’t have the words to sufficiently express myself. A trip like this has been a dream of mine since the first time I ever camped in the desert with Mom, Dad, Beth, and Julie. My expectations of this trip were so high that I can only be astounded by the fact that the trip exceeded them. I am one of the luckiest people on earth to have such a wonderful family, and to have had the opportunity that Intel gives employees to take eight weeks of paid time off every seven years.

This journal is dedicated to John and Ben White, the best boys in the world. I hope that you’ll look back on this trip with the same fond memories I know I will have. Also to Shelli White, who lent her kind support the whole way. My only regret is that you could not join us for the trek.

What an amazing way to get to know you, James! I loved browsing through.

Parenting is very important to me too, and I look for ways to pack in quality into the time I get with my girls. Thanks for letting me in, and kudos on being a role model for work-life balance.
